Viva Las Vegas

So I've decided to dedicate this blog to nothing but travelling. It seems fitting for some reason. So with that said, I'm only a month and a half late but I'm going to tell you about our 4 day trip to Sin City. It was a joint celebration of Derek's birthday and the end of tax season with the newly found freedom of one of my best friends (and to celebrate Gweed's undying love for the city). So four of us wolves decided to run around the desert in search of strippers and cocaine.. hehe jk.

We left Cincinnati on Wednesday evening and all was well after a quick bite and drink at the Outback in the airport and a quick run to the gate. Halfway through our flight I started to feel extremely nauseous. I ventured back to the galley to ask the flight attendants for any help. Of course, they didn't have any meds but they allowed me to hang in the back near the bathroom for the rest of the flight. We landed in Vegas around 10:30 and checked into our hotel, The Mirage. Super nice rooms!!!

After a long and tortuous night spent in the bathroom, I woke up on Thursday feeling absolutely miserable. My friend got me some meds and electrolytes from the nearby Walgreens and the 3 of them ventured out onto the strip while I laid in the comfy bed with down comforter and pillows. We had dinner reservations at Sushi Roku at 4:30 to try the infamous Kobe beef. If you haven't heard of Kobe beef.. apparently its supposed to be the best beef in the world. These cows are given daily massages and shit.. Long story short, its OVERRATED. After a quick dinner, I took a trip to Walgreens to stock up on water, applesauce and other stomach-friendly snacks and then retired for the night. (this is when pregnancy rumors started to swirl)

Friday I woke up a little fuzzy but overall refreshed. I was bound and determined to explore the strip! So after a quick breakfast, we gambled at Harrah's (I won $60 at roulette), explored New York, New York along with MGM and Caesar's Palace and decided we would try a club/bar that night. So after a Sbarro pizza, the 4 of us headed to King Ink, a swanky looking lounge in the Mirage. Us girls got to drink free and many of the inhabitants of this establishment were rocking.. ink. Around 1 am, we all had decided to head back up to the room. My friend was super trashed... so funny! I went to bed feeling great.

Saturday morning.. not so great. But the only request Gweed had of this trip was to visit Old Vegas.. Fremont Street. So begrudgingly I ignored my stomach and the 4 of us cabbed it. (The mountainside and deserts in Nevada are breathtaking!!!!!) We walked around and gambled a bit and then headed back to the strip after a few short hours. Saturday night we ate at a burger joint in the hotel and enjoyed some stand up comedy courtesy of Lewis Black. At this point, I was over Vegas and just ready to head home. However, I knew a 4 hour flight was standing in my way and this thought kept me up til 4 in the morning and waking up at 7 am feeling like death. But this time I was prepared. I took 2 Immodium, 2 Waldramin, and 2 Pepto-Bismol. By the time our plane was in the air, I was feeling ok. Harry Potter movies helped a lot. Upon landing, we went home where I immediately took a pregnancy test. Big Fat Negative.

So with all of this being said, Vegas was not fun for me. I know it had supreme potential to be a blast and I did enjoy the one full day I was able to spend out and about. I still feel guilty about it because I know I affected the other three's trip, but I'm hoping they have forgiven me. And the status on my stomach.. well I have a colonoscopy in a couple of weeks :/

Next on the travelling agenda is a return trip to Memphis for our anniversary. We are going with Gweed (of course) and our trainer Keith. Should be interesting. Hopefully my stomach issues have been resolved by then, otherwise, the 8 hour drive will NOT be fun.
